A top price for Eloise Harriet Stannard - as previously expected
The work Apples, a pineapple and black grapes in a basket, beside an upturned basket with a pear, plums, redcurrants, a peach, white grapes and a butterfly on a wooden ledge by Eloise Harriet Stannard was sold in the VICTORIAN PICTURES auction at Christies in London in November 2002. The price achieved of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,812.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Apples, a pineapple and black grapes in a basket, beside an upturned basket with a pear, plums, redcurrants, a peach, white grapes and a butterfly on a wooden ledge is the most expensive artwork by Eloise Harriet Stannard that we have observed at auctions so far.
