Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work El brujo aprendiz by Elmar Rojas. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,816.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elmar Rojas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Encuentro con la naturaleza, which sold at auction in November 2000 for USD 23,500.00 (€ 27,030.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit El brujo aprendiz von Elmar Rojas zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.816,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Elmar Rojas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Encuentro con la naturaleza beobachtet, die im November 2000 für USD 23.500,00 (€ 27.030,14) versteigert wurde.
