Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Courageous Spirits: Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Untitled, 1966 by Elijah Pierce. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 23,161.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Elijah Pierce have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January this year the work Judas Kissing Jesus was auctioned for USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,850.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Courageous Spirits: Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1966 von Elijah Pierce zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 23.161,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Elijah Pierce konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Januar diesen Jahres die Arbeit Judas Kissing Jesus für USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.850,43) versteigert.
