Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled 92.4 X 295 X 4Cm (36 3/8 X 116 1/8 X 1 9/16In). (In 10 Pieces) by El Anatsui was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 22,950.00 (€ 26,110.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by El Anatsui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prophet in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,228,000.00 (€ 2,091,233.34).

Die Arbeit Untitled 92.4 X 295 X 4Cm (36 3/8 X 116 1/8 X 1 9/16In). (In 10 Pieces) von El Anatsui kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 22.950,00 (€ 26.110,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von El Anatsui erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prophet im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.228.000,00 (€ 2.091.233,34).
