Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Unique and Important Stool, from her home, Tempe à Pailla, Castellar by Eileen Gray was sold in the Masterpieces of Design and Photography auction at Christies in London in March 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 156,250.00 (€ 181,354.65). Other works by Eileen Gray have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of EUR 310,000.00 in December 2019 for the work PANNEAU ‘AUM MANE PADME AUM' (SALUT A TOI, O JOYAU DANS LE LOTUS), VERS 1912.
