From the Collection of Herman Lindell (1851-1926), thence by descent. Helmer Lindell founded the company OY Herman Lindell AB on the Esplanaden in Helsinki in 1890 and the company sold office and artist materials, which meant that there were close contacts with artists. Herman Lindell had a large art and works of art collection with works by, among others by famous Scandinavian artists such as Axel Gallen Kallela, Carl Larsson, Helene Schjerfbeck, Jarnefalt and Albert Edelfelt.

Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Aurora Society by Eero Järnefelt was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 24,000.00 (€ 2,037.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eero Järnefelt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Finnish sunset Over A Lake in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 168,803.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Aurora Society von Eero Järnefelt im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 24.000,00 (€ 2.037,36) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eero Järnefelt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Finnish sunset Over A Lake im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 150.000,00 (€ 168.803,03).
