This work of art by Edwin Whitney-Smith could be acquired at Sothebys in London in February 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street auction, the work Bust Of Ernest Proctor Dawbarn (1874-1970) changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 729.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edwin Whitney-Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bust of a young man in March 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,896.15).
