Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Head of a young man by Edwin Whitney-Smith for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,671.43). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Edwin Whitney-Smith have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2012 by the work Bust of a young man at GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,896.15).

Im Dezember 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Head of a young man von Edwin Whitney-Smith für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.671,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Edwin Whitney-Smith wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im März 2012 die Arbeit Bust of a young man mit GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.896,15).
