The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,422.50 (€ 2,872.15), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edwin Henry Boddington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eel Fishing On The Thames, which sold at auction in February 2013 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,259.73).
