This artwork by Edwin Cooper achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2000. In the SPORTING ART AND DOGS auction, the work A side-saddled bay hunter with a groom in a landscape sold for GBP 5,875.00 (€ 9,312.60) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edwin Cooper; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A foxhound and her litter sold at auction in November 2003 with the realized price of GBP 9,400.00 (€ 13,493.84).
