Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Dunes, Oceano by Edward Weston. The price achieved of USD 241,000.00 (€ 166,574.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edward Weston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nude in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,033,530.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dunes, Oceano von Edward Weston zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 241.000,00 (€ 166.574,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edward Weston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nude im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.609.000,00 (€ 1.033.530,32).
