Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Winter Sales Are Best Reached By The Underground by Edward McKnight Kauffer for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,642.06). This price was achieved in the auction Posters With A Purpose: The London Transport Museum Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward McKnight Kauffer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Power, The Nerve Centre Of London'S Underground in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,446.33).
