Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Great Queens of History; Also Goodbye Sailor by Edward Linley Sambourne for USD 840.00 (€ 647.70). This price was achieved in the auction THE HOUSE SALE at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Edward Linley Sambourne have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2020 by the work Cavaliers and Roundheads at GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,102.66).
