Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Path in the Woods by Edward Lamson Henry was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 125.00 (€ 92.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Lamson Henry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flower Seller in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 49,350.00 (€ 56,763.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Path in the Woods von Edward Lamson Henry im September 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 125,00 (€ 92,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Lamson Henry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flower Seller im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 49.350,00 (€ 56.763,29).
