Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Heading Out To Sea In A Swell; And Fisherman On The Coast At The End Of The Day by Edward King Redmore was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 239.00 (€ 214.72). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward King Redmore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping in the Channel in July 2007 with an auction result of USD 3,120.00 (€ 2,275.55).
