In January 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver, Prints and Decoys, which included the work The Peaceable Kingdom by Edward Hicks. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,176,000.00 (€ 4,751,500.23), 54% above the upper estimate.
