In the American Art Online auction, the work Basket Of Cherries sold for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,546.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edward Chalmers Leavitt; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Still Life With Strawberries And Sparrows sold at auction in September 2008 with the realized price of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,754.42).
