Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipbreaking #10, Chittagong, Bangladesh by Edward Burtynsky was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year. The price achieved of USD 5,376.00 (€ 5,087.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burtynsky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nickel Tailings #34 and #35, Sudbury, Ontario in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 79,808.46).
