Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edward Gay could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The House Sale auction, the work Stream through a forest changed hands for USD 840.00 (€ 634.92) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Gay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Over The Hills And Far Away in March 2005 with an auction result of USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,402.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edward Gay konnte im Februar 2007 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The House Sale wechselte die Arbeit Stream through a forest für USD 840,00 (€ 634,92) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Gay erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Over The Hills And Far Away im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.402,27).
