Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work TROMPE-L'OEIL WITH THE PORTRAIT OF ERASMUS, BUST-LENGTH by Edwaert Collier for EUR 17,640.00. This price was achieved in the auction Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 at Sothebys in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwaert Collier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vanitas Still Life With A Candlestick, Musical Instruments, Dutch Books, A Writing Set, An Astrological And A Terrestial Globe And An Hourglass, All On A Draped Table in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 506,500.00 (€ 387,262.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit TROMPE-L'OEIL WITH THE PORTRAIT OF ERASMUS, BUST-LENGTH von Edwaert Collier für EUR 17.640,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900 bei Sothebys in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwaert Collier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vanitas Still Life With A Candlestick, Musical Instruments, Dutch Books, A Writing Set, An Astrological And A Terrestial Globe And An Hourglass, All On A Draped Table im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 506.500,00 (€ 387.262,02).
