In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work A Still Life With A Crown And Sceptre, A Violin, A Jewel Casket, A Nautilus Cup, And A Print Of Erasmus by Edwaert Collier. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 68,750.00 (€ 80,379.90), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Edwaert Collier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vanitas Still Life With A Candlestick, Musical Instruments, Dutch Books, A Writing Set, An Astrological And A Terrestial Globe And An Hourglass, All On A Draped Table in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 506,500.00 (€ 387,262.02).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 80.379,90) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
