Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composition by Eduard Steinberg was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection auction at Sothebys in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 18,034.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eduard Steinberg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Russian Composition 12, 1998, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 103,000.00 (€ 66,161.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Composition von Eduard Steinberg wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 18.034,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Eduard Steinberg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Russian Composition 12, 1998 beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 103.000,00 (€ 66.161,36) versteigert wurde.
