Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection, which included the work Composition with Fish by Eduard Steinberg. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,526.24) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Eduard Steinberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Russian Composition 12, 1998 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 103,000.00 (€ 66,161.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition with Fish von Eduard Steinberg zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.340,00 (€ 13.526,24) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eduard Steinberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Russian Composition 12, 1998 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 103.000,00 (€ 66.161,36).
