In October 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Escape Artists – The Non-Conformists Online, which included the work Composition (Gerasim Suloev'S Street) by Eduard Steinberg. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,450.00 (€ 10,493.42), 58% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Eduard Steinberg have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Russian Composition 12, 1998 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 103,000.00 (€ 66,161.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Escape Artists – The Non-Conformists Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition (Gerasim Suloev'S Street) von Eduard Steinberg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 10.493,42) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eduard Steinberg auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Russian Composition 12, 1998 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 103.000,00 (€ 66.161,36).
