Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Cheval barbe; Cheval Normand - Two Horses 1 Orang-outan - Orangutan - Pongo pygmaeus 2, both signed and dated, the first twice "Edouard Traviès p.xit 1837." and the second "Edouard Traviès p.xit 1836." in the margin, the first in the shape of a vignet by Edouard Traviès was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2000. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,587.56) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00.
