This work of art by Edouard Traviès could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction, the work An Arab stallion and a carthorse changed hands for USD 1,912.00 (€ 1,535.50) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edouard Traviès achieve.
