Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work French The Palace Guard, Granada by Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter was sold in the European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting auction at Sothebys in London in November 2008. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,692.85). Admittedly, works by Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shéhérazade in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 160,000.00 (€ 178,611.30).

Die Arbeit French The Palace Guard, Granada von Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 25.692,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shéhérazade im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 160.000,00 (€ 178.611,30).
