In April 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale, which included the work French Preparing For The Performance by Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter. The »bidding war« ended at USD 67,000.00 (€ 43,037.00), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shéhérazade in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 160,000.00 (€ 178,611.30).

Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit French Preparing For The Performance von Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 67.000,00 (€ 43.037,00) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Édouard Frédéric Wilhelm Richter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shéhérazade im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 160.000,00 (€ 178.611,30).
