In May 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Drifting by Edmund William Greacen. It changed hands for a price of USD 48,000.00 (€ 35,679.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by Edmund William Greacen have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2006 the work A Day At The Beach, Watch Hill was auctioned for USD 78,000.00 (€ 64,255.70).
