Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Southport Harbor by Edmund William Greacen. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,054.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund William Greacen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Day At The Beach, Watch Hill in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 78,000.00 (€ 64,255.70).

Im September 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Southport Harbor von Edmund William Greacen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.054,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund William Greacen erzielen.
