The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,293.51), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Thomas Parris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Four Seasons, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,270.27).

Die Arbeit Figures resting in the Turkish cemetary, Ayoub, the city of Constantinople and the Bosphorus beyond von Edmund Thomas Parris wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.293,51) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Edmund Thomas Parris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Four Seasons beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.270,27) versteigert wurde.
