Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2014 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Figures in the Turkish cemetery at Ayoub above the Bosphorus, Constantinople by Edmund Thomas Parris. The price achieved of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,853.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Thomas Parris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Four Seasons, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,270.27).
