Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Picture Sale - British and Continental oils,, which included the work The kiss by Edmund Joseph Sullivan. The price achieved of GBP 456.00 (€ 661.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Joseph Sullivan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Illustrations to The French Revolution (one illustrated), which sold at auction in December 2004 for GBP 1,553.50 (€ 2,198.63).
