Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Pointers by Edmund Henry Osthaus. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,665.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Henry Osthaus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hunting in the Fall - Three Pointers in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 180,000.00 (€ 136,394.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pointers von Edmund Henry Osthaus zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.665,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edmund Henry Osthaus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hunting in the Fall - Three Pointers im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 180.000,00 (€ 136.394,64).
