Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dot Rogers, Count Anteo, Rods Sue, Miss Ruby, Antevolo; Five Watercolors by Edmund Henry Osthaus was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,364.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edmund Henry Osthaus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hunting in the Fall - Three Pointers in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 180,000.00 (€ 136,394.64).
