Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work British summer by Edmund Dulac. The price achieved of USD 34,375.00 (€ 26,466.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Dulac - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Little Mermaid (At the mere sight of the bright liquid they drew back in terror), which sold at auction in June 2010 for GBP 55,250.00 (€ 67,189.14).
