Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British spring by Edmund Dulac was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2013. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,098.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Dulac - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Little Mermaid (At the mere sight of the bright liquid they drew back in terror), which sold at auction in June 2010 for GBP 55,250.00 (€ 67,189.14).
