Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edmund Bristow could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Pictures 1500-1850 auction, the work A grey hunter and stableboy changed hands for GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,146.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edmund Bristow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Windsor Castle in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 30,251.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edmund Bristow konnte im November 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British Pictures 1500-1850 wechselte die Arbeit A grey hunter and stableboy für GBP 3.585,00 (€ 5.146,32) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmund Bristow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Windsor Castle im Juli 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 30.251,12).
