Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The yellow canary by Edmund Adler was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 9,560.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edmund Adler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Secret, which sold at auction in May 2000 for USD 23,500.00 (€ 25,192.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The yellow canary von Edmund Adler im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 9.560,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Edmund Adler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Secret beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für USD 23.500,00 (€ 25.192,97) versteigert wurde.
