Despite a disappointment, a good price for Edmund Adler
In May 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work The Secret by Edmund Adler for USD 23,500.00 (€ 25,192.97). This price was achieved in the auction Nineteenth Century European Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, The Secret is the most expensive artwork by Edmund Adler that we have observed at auction so far.
