Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Edmond-Marie Petitjean could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Washerwoman At The River changed hands for USD 5,625.00 (€ 3,571.88) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edmond-Marie Petitjean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ships in a Port in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,154.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Edmond-Marie Petitjean konnte im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit Washerwoman At The River für USD 5.625,00 (€ 3.571,88) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmond-Marie Petitjean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ships in a Port im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 20.154,37).
