Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work A cottage on a country track by Edmond-Marie Petitjean. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,936.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Edmond-Marie Petitjean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ships in a Port in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,154.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A cottage on a country track von Edmond-Marie Petitjean zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.936,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmond-Marie Petitjean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ships in a Port im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 20.154,37).
