Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Ship Being Guided Into Antwerp Harbour by Edmond-Marie Petitjean was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in September 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,401.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Edmond-Marie Petitjean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ships in a Port in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,154.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Ship Being Guided Into Antwerp Harbour von Edmond-Marie Petitjean wurde im September 2015 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.401,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmond-Marie Petitjean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ships in a Port im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 20.154,37).
