The work French Au Bord De La Mare, Vendée by Edmond-Marie Petitjean was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,823.92) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edmond-Marie Petitjean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ships in a Port in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,154.37).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit French Au Bord De La Mare, Vendée von Edmond-Marie Petitjean wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.823,92) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmond-Marie Petitjean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ships in a Port im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 20.154,37).
