Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Pastoral Landscape with Cows by a Stream framed 114.5 x 172.0 x 7.0 cm (45 x 67 3/4 x 2 3/4 in). by Edmond Yon was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,536.00 (€ 1,408.14). Admittedly, works by Edmond Yon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures resting along a Riverbank in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 5,736.00 (€ 5,806.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Pastoral Landscape with Cows by a Stream framed 114.5 x 172.0 x 7.0 cm (45 x 67 3/4 x 2 3/4 in). von Edmond Yon im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.536,00 (€ 1.408,14) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edmond Yon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures resting along a Riverbank im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.736,00 (€ 5.806,26).
