Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Five o'clock tea by Edith Hayllar was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,958.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edith Hayllar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Summer Shower in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 358,650.00 (€ 523,617.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Five o'clock tea von Edith Hayllar kam im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.958,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edith Hayllar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Summer Shower im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 358.650,00 (€ 523.617,69).
