Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British A Cozy Corner by Edith Hayllar was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 21,179.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edith Hayllar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Summer Shower in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 358,650.00 (€ 523,617.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit British A Cozy Corner von Edith Hayllar kam im Oktober 2009 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 21.179,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edith Hayllar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Summer Shower im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 358.650,00 (€ 523.617,69).
