Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Little Girl with Ducks by Edith Barretto Parsons. The price achieved of USD 12,000.00 (€ 8,972.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edith Barretto Parsons have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Duck Baby': A Fountain in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 45,410.00 (€ 43,309.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Little Girl with Ducks von Edith Barretto Parsons zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.000,00 (€ 8.972,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edith Barretto Parsons auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Duck Baby': A Fountain im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.410,00 (€ 43.309,49).
