Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 53,760.00 (€ 49,598.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Edgar Alwin Payne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red Mesa, Monument Valley, Utah, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 289,000.00 (€ 185,637.20).
