Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction California Art, which included the work Autumn Hillside by Edgar Alwin Payne. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,960.00 (€ 8,214.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edgar Alwin Payne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red Mesa, Monument Valley, Utah in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 289,000.00 (€ 185,637.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autumn Hillside von Edgar Alwin Payne zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.960,00 (€ 8.214,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edgar Alwin Payne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Red Mesa, Monument Valley, Utah im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 289.000,00 (€ 185.637,20).
